Beethoven was a movie about a St Bernard who finds his way to a family that takes him in. But the vet tries to capture him and kill him.

After Beethoven, Charles Grodin went on to appear in movies such as Dave (1993), So I Married an Axe Murderer (1993), Heart and Souls (1993), Beethoven's 2nd (1993), and Clifford (1994). He is currently working on a new movie.

Bonnie Hunt as Alice Newton

Bonnie Hunt has had a very successful acting career. After Beethoven, Bonnie went on to appear in movies such as Now and Then (1995), Jumanji (1995), Jerry Maguire (1996), The Green Mile (1999), and both Cheaper by the Dozen movies (2003 & 2005).

Dean Jones as Herman Varnick, D.V.M.

After Beethoven, Dean Jones went on to appear in movies such as Clear and Present Danger (1994) and That Darn Cat (1997). He was in a tv movie in 2001, Scrooge and Marley, but hasn't appeared in anything since.

Nicholle Tom as Ryce Newton

After Beethoven, Nicholle Tom went on to appear in movies such as Season of Change (1994), Panic (2000), Ice Angel (2000), and In Memory of My Father (2005). She also appeared on the tv show "The Nanny" as Margaret "Maggie" Sheffield. She is currently working on a movie.

Christopher Castile as Ted Newton

After Beethoven, Christopher Castile went on to appear in the sequel to Beethoven, and made guest appearances on tv shows such as "Empty Nest" and "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" (1995). He also appeared on the ABC show "Step by Step" (1991-1998). Most recently he as been appearing on a Christian radio show called Focus on the Family (2005). Sarah Rose Karr as Emily Newton

After Beethoven, Sarah Rose Karr went on to appear the sequel of Beethoven, and a couple of tv movies, Homewrecker (1992) and The Four Diamonds (1995). She hasn't appeared in anything since.
